  • „Sacred is the starlit hour, a luminous eternity traverses the skies.“

In the 1940s, the renowned Swiss composer Othmar Schoeck composed the song cycle “Unter Sternen” (Under the Stars) based on poems by his compatriot Gottfried Keller. The cycle is inspired by a starry night, which becomes a symbol of eternity and death.

The concert featuring excerpts from this cycle as well as selected works by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, and Hugo Wolf takes place under the starry sky of the Simplon-Pass in collaboration with the Simplon-Adler Observatory. After the approximately one-hour concert, the observatory offers the opportunity to admire the night sky through their telescopes.
