The 5th edition of the festival opens with the composer who has shaped the Lied like no other to this day: the Swedish baritone ARVID FAGERFJÄLL and the German-British-Polish pianist BENJAMIN MEAD invite you to Franz Schubert’s 'Winterreise', to the very place where it occurred: the desolate winter landscape. The audience becomes the wanderer's physical companion, as he seeks to process and suppress his past love affair through his journey. An existential trek marked by joy and despair, hope and memory, estrangement in physical cold, and a heart ultimately freezing due to doubts about the strength of his love.
